Airex smart ventilation control

August 6, 2019 by Tessa Shepperson

Airex - smart ventilation bricksOften properties, particularly older properties, have problems with poor ventilation.  Airbricks can cause heat loss.  If they are blocked up this can cause damp and condensation causing health and all the other problems associated with this.

The founders of AirEx ‘the smart ventilation brick’ have therefore developed an award-winning product which replaces airbricks with a smart ventilation control system.  Here’s how it works:

Sensors measure temperature, humidity and air quality. Smart algorithms enable automatic air flow regulation, while taking into account local weather and air quality data.

AirEx opens to reduce underfloor humidity, and closes to reduce heat loss and improve your comfort, all without compromising on air quality in the home.

Its all explained in the video below.

AirEx, which has been approved by Ofgem as one of five innovative energy efficiency system providers under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) 3 scheme, is being used by many large landlords, particularly social landlords.

However, you can also buy them via their certified installers BillSave Uk.  So far as cost is concerned BillSave say this is upwards of £929 including installation – but they point out that the smart air bricks are cheaper than underfloor insulation and will pay for themselves many times over during their lifetime.

So if you are looking to improve the energy efficiency of your properties this is worth looking into.

Here is what they have to say for themselves:
