Searching to Plant Trees

EcosiaDid you know that you can help fight climate change by the search engine you use?

I have recently discovered Ecosia -a company which provides a search engine service and then uses some 80% of its profits to support tree planting in vulnerable areas.

Ecosia also uses green energy to run its servers.  So that sounds pretty good.  The searches themselves are powered by the Bing system.

Its all explained in the two videos below – the first one is a short video from an Ecosia information page, and the second one is a third party video looking at Ecosia to see if it is legit.

It’s very easy to sign up to Ecosia and make it your default search engine.  You should see a link to allow you to do this when you visit the Ecosia website.

I have to say that I prefer any income from my internet searches to go towards planting trees than swelling the Google coffers.  But watch the videos and make up your own mind.
