This is a worrying time. Going about our day to day lives and doing our day to day things is, we are learning, having an increasingly negative effect on our planet.
- Carbon emissions are starting to heat up the atmosphere resulting in higher temperatures and melting ice at the poles, which will in due course lead to rises in sea level
- The plastic that we use all the time and take for granted is virtually indestructible and is gradually drifting down to the oceans where it is often mistaken by wildlife for food and is also breaking down into very small pieces which are now everywhere
- Our farming practices are destroying wildlife and many species have already become extinct before we even knew what they were.
Just a few of the worrying things going on as a result of our activities.
Faced with all this it is hard to know what to do about it. The way our society is organised and run makes it difficult for us to take action. Regulations and taxes still often favour the old way of doing things. It is hard to buy anything nowadays which is not swathed in plastic. It is also hard to find products which are genuinely environmentally friendly.
My main job is running my Landlord Law information service for landlords. However, as landlords control many domestic properties they have the potential to make a difference. So I have set up this website to make it easier for them to do so, by providing what information and links to resources that I can.
